本公演へ寄せて

パラグアイから、最も有名な現代音楽グループを迎えることを大変嬉しく思います。このグループは、ミゲル・ナルバエスとジェニー・ヒックスによるデュオ、プラヘイ・ソウルで、当日は優秀なベーシストのパウラ・ロドリゲスを伴奏に迎えます。プラヘイ・ソウルは、パラグアイの伝統的な音楽と現代的なリズムを融合させたパラグアイの新しい音楽精神を、他にはない形で表現するグループです。自作の曲はユニークで、パラグアイだけでなく中南米各地でも高い人気を誇っています。カナダやヨーロッパの数カ国で、その音楽を披露してきたプラヘイ・ソウルが、この度初めて日本の皆様の前で演奏することになり、大変嬉しく思います。彼らは日本という素晴らしい国の最も美しい季節のひとつを輝かせてくれるに違いないと確信しています。

I am very happy that soon we will have the opportunity to welcome one of the most successful contemporary music groups from Paraguay. This group is made up of the Duo Purahéi Soul, Miguel Narvaez and Jenny Hicks, who on this occasion will be accompanied by the excellent bassist Paula Rodriguez. Purahéi Soul represents like no other group the new musical spirit of Paraguay that introduces elements of Paraguayan folklore mixed with modern rhythms. His own compositions are unique and enjoy great popularity, not only in Paraguay but also in various parts of Latin America. After having performed their music in Canada and several European countries, we are thrilled to see Purahéi Soul perform their works before the Japanese public for the first time. I am sure that this group from my country will brighten up one of the most beautiful seasons in this amazing country of Japan.
