I always love coming to Japan, the fans are so great and one of my favorite places to play in the world are the Blue Note clubs in Japan. I am really looking forward to playing them and seeing all of my Japanese fans once again. I am bringing the band that has not been to Japan in three or four years: Ricky Peterson, Richard Patterson, Gene Lake and Nicky Moroch. We are going to play a lot of the older stuff that we haven’t played for a while; some things from the back catalog that we maybe haven’t ever played live. We don’t know specifically what those songs are going to be but they will be songs in the funk category. There will be a lot of surprises for our fans and in some cases surprises to us.

日本に行くのはいつでも、とても楽しいことだよ。ファンのみんなは素晴らしいし、世界中で最も気に入っているライブ会場のひとつ、ブルーノート東京があるからね。また日本で演奏して、日本のファンに会えるのを本当に楽しみにしているよ。今回は、3-4年日本に行っていないバンド：リッキー・ピーターソン、リチャード・パターソン、ジーン・レイクとニッキー・モロックを連れて行くんだ。沢山の懐かしい曲 - しばらく演奏していなかった曲をやるつもりだし、そのうちの何曲かは、今回初めてライブで演奏するんだ。具体的にどの曲をプレイするかはまだ決めていないけれど、ファンキーなものになるだろうね。ファンのみんなにとって、たくさんのサプライズがあるライブになるだろうし、私やメンバーたちにとっても、驚きに満ちたものになることもあると思う。
